3D Digital Artist Education

As a 3D Digital Artist, you’ll be responsible for creating digital graphics and animations that can be used in a wide range of industries, from film and television to gaming, advertising, architecture, and scientific visualization.
Copenhagen Academy of Digital Arts, CADA, offers a comprehensive 3.5-year creative & technological education program that prepares you for a dynamic and exciting career as a 3D digital artist in a growing industry.
Our program covers all aspects of 3D art, and our faculty members are experts in the field, with years of experience in 3D digital art and animation. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge and guiding our students towards success. Our curriculum is designed to be dynamic and responsive to industry trends, ensuring that you as a graduate will be equipped with the most current and in-demand skills.
Your Future Career as a 3D Digital Artist
As a 3D Digital Artist, you will be trained to become a generalist, but you will also have the opportunity to specialize in a particular area that suits your interests and strengths. At CADA, we offer courses in animation, modeling, texturing, rigging, and VFX, providing you with a broad understanding of the 3D digital art industry. Our curriculum is designed to prepare you for the vast array of career opportunities available to 3D Digital Artists. You may choose to become an animator, character sculptor, technical artist, VFX artist, mocap technician, environmental artist, texture artist, rigger, or many other 3D digital art roles.
The demand for skilled 3D Digital Artists is increasing both nationally and internationally, with new tech trends such as VR, AR, Virtual Production, and the creation of the Metaverse providing even more exciting job possibilities in areas ranging from game and movie production to scientific visualization. Our courses are continuously updated to keep up with the latest industry trends, ensuring that you receive the latest skills and knowledge needed to succeed in your career. Semester Overview
Our academy offers a comprehensive suite of courses that encompass every facet of 3D art, including animation, modelling, texturing, rigging, and VFX. We recognize that becoming a 3D digital artist entails more than mere technical aptitude; it necessitates the cultivation of a creative vision. Our courses are accordingly structured to facilitate the development of both your technical and artistic capabilities. Whether you are a fledgling artist or an accomplished professional, our curriculum caters to every level of experience. You will benefit from an intimate learning environment that fosters personal attention, with access to cutting-edge resources and facilities. We believe that learning ought to be an immersive and stimulating experience. Our courses are therefore centered around hands-on and project-based work, affording you ample opportunities to apply your learning in a practical context. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow students and cultivate a network of like-minded professionals. Our 3D Digital Artist educational programme stretches over 7 semesters across 3.5 years.

About the 3D Digital Artist education at CADA
The education for 3D Digital Artist is developed based on industry requirements. This is done through our Industry Panel and Professional Committee, which contribute to the development of the program and ensure that our teaching aligns with their needs.
At the same time, we have a large network of guest lecturers from the industry who keep us updated, so you as a student can be sure to acquire the latest knowledge.
- The education takes 3½ years and is divided into 7 semesters. There are limited spots available, and the program only starts in August during the summer.
- The instruction is conducted in English and delivered by a combination of permanent teachers and instructors from the international industry.
- We admit students on a first-come, first-served basis, and therefore, we do not have an application deadline.

You need to have a high school degree (STX/HTX/HHX or similar). (Dispensation can be granted if you show outstanding flair for creative art)
You must send us a motivational letter and your creative portfolio with your application. In our assessment, we put a high emphasis on your passion for digital arts and your desire to work within this field.

As a private academy, the 3D Digital Artist educational programme has a tuition fee of 41 monthly instalments of DKK 8.750. However, as a student at a private institution, you can qualify to get both normal SU (Danish state educational support) as well as an additional SU supplement which will cover most of the tuition fee.
