 Graduate Program in Gastronomy


The Le Cordon Bleu Master of Arts in Gastronomy is one of the few programs in the world leading to an advanced degree in gastronomic studies. The program is built on a series of articulated courses, and is designed in the early stages to provide a general appreciation of the history and culture of food and drink from ancient times, with a strong focus on contemporary themes.

Students then go on to research their own area of interest in the field of Gastronomy. Students established in a gastronomy-related career, such as a restaurateur, wine importer, or a food or drink journalist, will find that the program in Gastronomy a pathway to professional advancement. Students seeking a gastronomy-related career in hospitality, media or tourism will gain an academic background from this program. The program is flexible enough for students to pursue deeper understanding of particular topics or issues of interest to them while benefiting from the broad scope of the formal teaching.

The courses are offered both on-line (part time) and on-campus (full-time). Full time on-campus students should anticipate 18th months to complete the Master of Arts (9-12 months coursework, approximately 6 months for the research component).

Ansøgning og adgangskrav

English language proficiency (IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent) A Bachelor Degree And/Or Relevant specialist experience and expertise may also count toward entry. The University of Adelaide and Le Cordon Bleu will jointly assess all applications and make offers on the basis of merit within the constraints of the number of places available.

One elective course is chosen from the following;
- Food & Wine Technology
- Gastronomic Tourism
- Asian Food History & Culture

Adelaide enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The temperature ranges from 25 C to 35 C in summer, and 10 C to 15 C in winter.
